Dear Yuletider,
Sorry that I’m not very stalkable. I would link you to my Tumblr but it’s just a bunch of Victorian houses and recipes. Oops. I also apologize that some of my requests are a little bit bizarre. I completely understand that optional details are optional, and I’m trying to get this letter posted in plenty of time for you to un-offer fandoms if you’re horrified. That being said: I really am easy to please, and super excited to be signing up for this!
Things I love in fic: Tropey nonsense and themed AUs. Dark humor.Dark most things. Shipfic! Of any flavor and any rating. Asexual characters and queer gen are also a-okay with me. Things that are character-focused are great! Things that are plot-focused are great! I love intense emotions, character whumping, and characters being caught in uncharacteristic places or actions. I love ridiculous, absurdist, slapstick comedy. I love relationships, platonic or romantic. I love longfic, shortfic, and everything in between.
Things I love in shipfic: ridiculous plot set-ups to get characters together (especially undercover as a couple), loyalty kink, characters who just have a perfect understanding of each other (or seem to be in their own world apart from everyone around them), light power dynamics/consensual kink (especially spanking and wax play), bathing together, trapped together (snowed in, island, zombie apocalypse), non-penetrative sex, secret admirers/pining, masquerades/identity porn, and probably twelve others I'm leaving out.
Things I don’t want to see, please: Children (I’m sorry. I know I requested one children’s fandom. Please focus on the nominated adult characters even if you discard my strange prompts.) Also mutilation/body horror, animal harm/bestiality, cannibalism, necrophilia, or excessive bodily fluids. (One of these things is not like the others…)
Other notes: I’m not sure any of these fandoms lend themselves to crossovers, but if you have an idea that just won’t quit, feel free to check with the mods. Also, Christmas-themed fic is fine for any of these fandoms.

Mary Poppins: Mary Poppins, Bert, Albert, George Banks
I do not expect all these characters to be in the fic! But I requested them all so that you can tailor your offers to avoid me if you love the movie because it’s lighthearted and inspirational and reminds you of your childhood. Because I mostly want to turn that on its head.
I rewatched the movie a few months ago with family, and for some reason (probably being with family) my head kept going to dark, strange places. In particular I had several different thoughts: What if Mary and Bert were secretly running some sort of long con, gaining the confidence and keys of wealthy families and luring them out of their houses? Could you tell the whole story as a nervous breakdown on the part of George Banks? And, potentially most disturbing, What is going on with Albert??? Essentially, I would love to have any of those questions answered. And that was the rationale behind my character nominations.
If you matched me on Mary Poppins and those are just too weird for you, I’m so sorry. You can write me Mary and Bert, platonic or in a relationship, on any sort of pavement adventure you can imagine. You can write me a very serious fic about women’s suffrage and gender roles. You can even write me Uncle Albert/Admiral Boom crackfic. (Okay, I would totally read that. Consider that an enthusiastic alternate suggestion.)

Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World: Jack Aubrey, Stephen Maturin
Note: I read the first Aubrey-Maturin novel in 2007 or 2008. That’s the extent of my exposure to the books, and this request operates purely on a movie-verse level.
This movie is one of my obsessions, and it’s strange to think that it has been for over ten years, but there you have it. It’s one of the movies I usually watch at least once a year, and sometimes turn to when I need a pick-me-up. It has everything: adventure, atmosphere, stirring music - and, yes, I ship it.
My disclaimer: I COMPLETELY understand if you do not ship it and you do not want to write romance between Jack and Stephen. I would love a gen fic that illustrates their beautiful, slightly codependent, respectful and deeply loyal friendship. Stories examining the tensions between their roles on the ship and their different personalities would be loved. Stories that put aside the character focus for some nice swashbuckling or Galapagos exploration is also totally fine by me!
If you *do* feel like shipping the characters, I would love anything with a period flavor, anything that called the inherent power dynamics into the forefront (whether or not you wanted to take that to the bedroom), or anything about how they make peace with their own desires and the lives they’ve chosen. I would prefer that there be no homophobia, either external or internalized, although a few lines about moving past it would be fine with me. I would also prefer that their relationship be largely happy (if complicated.)
Themes I would enjoy for this fandom include but are not limited to: swashbuckling, romantic descriptions of the sea, romance upon the sea, dark examinations of death and human nature, hurt/comfort, or AU settings (Western, space, vampire slayers?)
The Mistle-Tones Holly, Marci
This is my guilty pleasure. (Okay, the entire signup is my guilty pleasure.) But I have a not-so-secret love for a cappella, and a desperately-guarded-secret love for terrible movies, and this one pushes all my buttons. I specifically requested Holly and Marci because they are two sides of the same coin, and I believe that the movie requires Marci’s evil plotting and tart sniping to balance out Holly’s sweetness, light, and slightly bizarre Christmas obsession.
I would be completely and totally happy with gen or ship fic here (Holly/Marci or Holly/Nick being my preference, but I'm also fine with Marci/Nick, Marci/AJ, or Nick/AJ. I'd rather not see Holly/AJ because I really appreciate that their friendship has no romantic tension!) This is also a fandom in which I would be completely fine with a bright, cheerful tone that mimics the canon, or something dark and twisted. (What lengths would Holly go to if it meant joining the Snow Belles? Would she sleep with Marci? Would she kill Marci?) Ahem. Also, it goes without saying that Christmas fic is fine in this fandom!
Other optional plot suggestions, because I feel like this fandom is a little thin on loose ends and could therefore use them: Holly and Nick are figuring out how to be a couple, but they keep running into trouble - most of it Marci’s doing. Or Marci thought she got what she wanted - until the Mistle-Tones dropped the ‘Mistle’ from their name and became the hottest a cappella group in America, year-round. Or Christmas is a special time to Holly, because it reminds her of her mom. But she’s not the only one missing the founder of the Snow Belles this time of year.
Themes I would enjoy for this fandom include but are not limited to: cheesy goodness, hate sex, singing competitions, curtain fic, Christmas fic, superpowered AU, retellings from Marci’s point of view, or a Pitch Perfect crossover.
